Overview

Pamrevlumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that targets and inhibits connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), a central mediator of tissue remodeling and fibrosis. By binding to CTGF, pamrevlumab prevents its interaction with receptors, thereby blocking downstream signaling pathways involved in fibrotic processes. This mechanism gives the drug potential anti-fibrotic and antineoplastic activities. Pamrevlumab has been investigated for several indications including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), and certain forms of pancreatic cancer. It was developed by FibroGen and has shown good tolerability in clinical studies, though some late-stage trials have not met their primary endpoints[1][2][3][5][6].
