Overview

Pamvatamig (MCLA-129) is a full-length human bispecific antibody (Biclonics®) designed to simultaneously target the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and the c-MET receptor tyrosine kinase. Developed by Merus N.V. and licensed to Betta Pharmaceuticals for development and commercialization in China, the therapeutic is intended for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), head and neck cancer, and colorectal cancer. Pamvatamig functions through a dual mechanism: it inhibits tumor growth and survival by blocking both EGFR and c-MET signaling pathways and utilizes enhanced antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) to recruit immune effector cells to eliminate tumor cells. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I/II clinical trials, particularly in patients harboring EGFR mutations or MET abnormalities such as amplification or exon 14 skipping mutations.
