PanAd3-RSV is a replication-defective chimpanzee adenovirus-vectored vaccine candidate developed for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. The vaccine uses a genetically modified adenoviral vector (PanAd3, derived from chimpanzee adenovirus group C) to deliver codon-optimized genes encoding RSV proteins F (fusion protein, F0ΔTM), N (nucleocapsid protein), and M2–1 (matrix protein). This design aims to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against RSV. Clinical studies have shown that PanAd3-RSV is safe and immunogenic in healthy adults, including older adults, with balanced CD4+ and CD8+ T cell responses as well as neutralizing antibody production. The vaccine has been evaluated alone or in combination with MVA-RSV in prime-boost regimens[2][5][6].
