Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Panadom-DSR is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by MetaneX Life Science. It contains two active ingredients: pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), and domperidone, a dopamine antagonist with prokinetic properties. Pantoprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) in the gastric parietal cells, thereby suppressing stomach acid production. Domperidone acts as a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist, which enhances gastric motility and increases lower esophageal sphincter pressure, facilitating gastric emptying. This combination is primarily used for the management of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer disease, particularly in patients who experience symptoms of dyspepsia, nausea, or vomiting alongside acid reflux.
