Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Panasilver is a liquid dietary supplement marketed for daily immune system support and the prevention of common illnesses. Developed and distributed by Activation Products, the product contains colloidal silver (also referred to as Silver Sol or ionic silver) at a concentration of 10 parts per million (PPM). Its mechanism of action involves silver ions interacting with bacterial cell membranes to exert antimicrobial effects. Panasilver is classified as a nutraceutical rather than a pharmaceutical drug. In January 2019, Health Canada issued a recall for the product, stating it was not authorized for sale and posed serious health risks, specifically argyria—a condition causing permanent bluish-gray discoloration of the skin, eyes, and nails due to silver accumulation.
