Panblok

Panblok is a recombinant hemagglutinin (rHA) influenza vaccine developed by Protein Sciences Corporation (PSC). It is produced using baculovirus expression vectors in cultured insect cells, offering an alternative to traditional egg-based vaccine manufacturing. This method aims to avoid the disadvantages associated with egg-based production, such as scalability issues, time-consuming adaptation of vaccine viruses, and vulnerability to agricultural diseases. Panblok is designed to induce an immune response against various pandemic influenza strains, including H7, H5, and H1N1/2009pdm, and is often formulated with adjuvants like AS03, MF59, SE, GLA-SE, or Advax to enhance its immunogenicity.
