PancreaCell

PancreaCell is an investigational Leonhardt Ventures regenerative-medicine product for pancreatic regeneration and diabetes. It combines an implantable bioelectric microstimulator and programmable micro-infusion pump with the proprietary PC-15 cell-based regenerative composition. The proposed approach uses bioelectric signaling to sequentially promote release of regenerative mediators, including stromal cell-derived factor 1, vascular endothelial growth factor, insulin-like growth factor 1, follistatin, receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand, hepatocyte growth factor, endothelial nitric oxide synthase, tropoelastin, and activin, with the goal of recruiting endogenous stem cells, supporting vascularization and tissue repair, and restoring pancreatic insulin production.
