Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pancrease MT is a pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy (PERT) delivered in delayed-release capsules containing enteric-coated microtablets. It is composed of pancrelipase, a mixture of three key digestive enzymes: lipase, protease, and amylase. This medication is indicated for the treatment of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), a condition where the pancreas does not produce enough digestive enzymes, often associated with cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, or post-pancreatectomy conditions. The enteric coating protects the enzymes from gastric acid, allowing them to be released in the duodenum where they facilitate the breakdown of fats, proteins, and starches into absorbable nutrients.
