PancVax is an investigational autologous, antigen-loaded dendritic cell vaccine developed by the Baylor Research Institute for the treatment of pancreatic cancer. The vaccine is produced by isolating a patient's own dendritic cells and loading them with tumor-associated antigens to enhance their ability to prime and activate a robust T cell-mediated immune response against pancreatic tumor cells. In clinical evaluation, PancVax is administered via intradermal and subcutaneous injections in combination with standard-of-care chemotherapy regimens, such as FOLFIRINOX or gemcitabine plus nab-paclitaxel. This therapeutic approach aims to leverage the professional antigen-presenting capabilities of dendritic cells to overcome the immunosuppressive microenvironment characteristic of pancreatic cancer, potentially improving clinical outcomes such as surgical resectability and overall survival.
