Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pandemic Influenza H5N1 Vaccine is an investigational adjuvanted vaccine being developed by Dynavax Technologies for the prevention of infection by the H5N1 strain of influenza A. The vaccine formulation combines H5N1 influenza virus antigens with CpG 1018, Dynavax's proprietary Toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9) agonist adjuvant. CpG 1018 is designed to enhance the magnitude and quality of the immune response by mimicking the immunostimulatory effects of bacterial DNA. The development of this vaccine serves as a proof-of-concept for utilizing CpG 1018 to bolster global pandemic preparedness and response efforts. As of 2024, the program is in a randomized, active-controlled Phase 1/2 clinical study evaluating safety and immunogenicity in healthy adults.
