Uvax Bio's pandemic influenza vaccine is an investigational vaccine candidate developed using the proprietary 1c-SApNP® (one-component self-assembling protein nanoparticle) platform, licensed from Scripps Research. This technology enables the production of nanoparticles that display multiple copies of viral antigens—specifically the hemagglutinin (HA) protein—in a highly organized, symmetric array. This multivalent presentation is designed to mimic the repetitive structure of a natural virus, which more effectively cross-links B-cell receptors and triggers a potent immune response compared to traditional recombinant protein vaccines. The vaccine aims to provide broad and durable protection against emerging pandemic influenza strains, such as H5N1, by inducing high titers of neutralizing antibodies. It is currently in the research and discovery stage.
