Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pandrate DSR is a branded generic oral combination medication developed and marketed by Suncure Lifescience. It consists of pantoprazole (40 mg), a proton pump inhibitor, and domperidone (10 mg), a dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. Pantoprazole reduces gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) at the secretory surface of the gastric parietal cell. Domperidone acts as a prokinetic agent by antagonizing dopamine D2 receptors in the gastrointestinal tract, which increases lower esophageal sphincter tone and enhances gastric emptying. This combination is indicated for the management of gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and dyspepsia, particularly when symptoms are associated with nausea or delayed gastric emptying.
