Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Panflu** is Sinovac's monovalent, egg-derived, inactivated whole-virion influenza A H5N1 pandemic-preparedness vaccine adjuvanted with aluminum hydroxide. It uses the NIBRG-14 reassortant vaccine strain, derived from A/Vietnam/1194/2004 and A/PR/8/34, and is intended to induce active immunity against H5N1 influenza through vaccine-elicited antiviral antibody and cellular immune responses. Panflu completed Phase II evaluation and received Chinese production licensure on April 2, 2008. ([pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC4634113/))
