Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Panflu.1 is an inactivated pandemic influenza A (H1N1) vaccine developed by Sinovac Biotech as a single-shot formulation for prevention of infection with the 2009 swine-origin H1N1 virus. It is an inactivated, split or whole virion vaccine that contains killed H1N1 virus antigen formulated with excipients to induce a protective humoral immune response by stimulating production of neutralizing antibodies against influenza A (H1N1). Developed rapidly in response to the 2009 H1N1 pandemic, Panflu.1 was the first H1N1 influenza vaccine approved in China and has been used in national vaccination and stockpiling programs, as well as exported to markets such as Mexico for pandemic preparedness.[1][5][6]
