Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pangramin Plus is a brand of allergen extract vaccine used for subcutaneous allergen immunotherapy (SCIT). It contains intact, unmodified allergen extracts derived from sources such as grass pollen (5-grass mix) and house dust mite (*Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus*), among others. The product is designed to induce immune tolerance in patients with allergic conditions, particularly local allergic rhinitis (LAR) and other IgE-mediated allergies. Its mechanism of action involves repeated exposure to increasing doses of the relevant allergens, leading to immunological changes such as increased production of specific IgG4 antibodies and reduced clinical reactivity upon natural or provoked exposure. Clinical studies have shown that Pangramin Plus is effective in reducing symptoms and medication use in patients with LAR, with a good safety profile comparable to conventional schedules but allowing for shorter initiation periods[1][3][4][6][10].
