Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pangramin SLIT HDM mix is a biological sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) product developed by ALK-Abelló for the treatment of house dust mite (HDM)-induced allergic rhinitis and asthma. It consists of a standardized 50/50 mixture of allergen extracts from two major house dust mite species, *Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus* and *Dermatophagoides farinae*. The therapy works by inducing immunological tolerance to these specific allergens through regular sublingual administration of increasing doses (escalation phase) followed by a maintenance phase. This desensitization process aims to reduce allergic symptoms and the patient's reliance on symptomatic medications. The product has been evaluated in Phase III clinical trials, specifically documenting its efficacy, safety, and tolerability in populations such as Chinese patients with HDM-induced respiratory allergies.
