Overview
Panobacumab is a fully human monoclonal IgM antibody targeting the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) O-polysaccharide moiety of *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* serotype O11. It acts as a lipopolysaccharide inhibitor, binding to the LPS on the bacterial surface, thereby enhancing bacterial clearance and reducing inflammation associated with infection. Panobacumab is being developed primarily for adjunctive treatment of nosocomial pneumonia and ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by *Pseudomonas aeruginosa*, including multidrug-resistant strains. The drug was originally developed by Berna Biotech and is currently under development by Aridis Pharmaceuticals. It has orphan drug status for pseudomonal infections and has reached Phase II clinical trials[4][5][7].
