Panobinostat is a non-selective histone deacetylase inhibitor used primarily in combination with other drugs to treat multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer. It acts by inhibiting histone deacetylase enzymes, which leads to changes in gene transcription and protein activity, promoting apoptosis and cell-cycle arrest in cancer cells.
