Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pantanir-DSR is a fixed-dose combination small molecule drug containing pantoprazole (40 mg) and domperidone (30 mg, sustained release). Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Domperidone is a peripheral dopamine D2-receptor antagonist that acts as a prokinetic agent, increasing gastrointestinal motility and the tone of the lower esophageal sphincter. This combination is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, heartburn, dyspepsia, gastritis, peptic ulcers, and associated nausea or vomiting. It is marketed in India by SBM Enterprises as a finished pharmaceutical formulation.
