Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PANTODELL-DSR is a fixed-dose combination medication developed and marketed by Cadell Healthcare for the management of acid-related gastrointestinal disorders. It contains pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system in the gastric parietal cells, and domperidone, a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist. Domperidone acts as a prokinetic agent, increasing gastrointestinal motility and providing antiemetic effects by blocking dopamine receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone. This combination is primarily indicated for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and associated symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, and bloating. It is formulated as an oral capsule, with domperidone typically provided in a sustained-release form to ensure prolonged efficacy.
