Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pantogar is a systemic hair and nail therapeutic agent formulated to treat diffuse hair loss and structural damage to the hair and nails. It contains a synergistic blend of active ingredients, including calcium pantothenate, cystine, keratin, medicinal yeast, thiamine, and para-aminobenzoic acid. The mechanism of action involves providing essential precursors and cofactors necessary for the metabolic activity of hair roots and the nail matrix, thereby stimulating the synthesis of keratin and improving the structural integrity of the hair shaft and nail plate. Developed by Merz Pharmaceuticals, Pantogar is primarily indicated for diffuse alopecia, hair damaged by environmental stressors (such as UV radiation), and brittle or splitting nails. It is administered orally and is recognized for its role in restoring the natural growth cycle of hair by supporting the high metabolic requirements of rapidly dividing hair and nail cells.
