Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pantz-DM is a combination oral tablet developed by Ritz Pharma, containing the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) pantoprazole and the dopamine antagonist domperidone. Pantoprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells, thereby reducing gastric acid secretion. Domperidone acts as a peripheral dopamine D2 receptor antagonist with prokinetic properties, enhancing gastrointestinal motility and increasing lower esophageal sphincter pressure. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and symptoms associated with gastroparesis, such as nausea and vomiting.
