Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Pantorush-D and Pantorush-DSR are fixed-dose combination products developed by Acure Pharma, containing the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) pantoprazole and the dopamine D2 receptor antagonist domperidone. Pantoprazole works by irreversibly inhibiting the gastric H+/K+ ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) in parietal cells, thereby suppressing gastric acid secretion. Domperidone acts as a peripheral dopamine antagonist with prokinetic and antiemetic properties, enhancing gastrointestinal motility and reducing symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), dyspepsia, and other acid-related disorders associated with upper gastrointestinal motility symptoms. Pantorush-DSR specifically utilizes a sustained-release formulation for the domperidone component to provide prolonged therapeutic effects.
