Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**PANVAC** is an investigational heterologous prime-boost therapeutic cancer-vaccine regimen consisting of recombinant **PANVAC-V** vaccinia vector for priming and recombinant **PANVAC-F** fowlpox vector for booster immunizations. Both vectors encode the tumor-associated antigens carcinoembryonic antigen and mucin-1 together with the TRICOM costimulatory transgenes B7-1, ICAM-1, and LFA-3. The regimen is intended to generate antigen-specific CD4-positive and CD8-positive T-cell responses against tumors expressing carcinoembryonic antigen and mucin-1. PANVAC has been evaluated by the National Cancer Institute and Therion Biologics in clinical studies including high-grade non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer, resected metastatic colorectal cancer, and metastatic pancreatic cancer.
