Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Papilocare is a topical vaginal gel developed by Procare Health for the management and treatment of HPV-dependent cervical lesions and high-risk HPV infections. It is formulated with a combination of active ingredients, primarily an extract of the medicinal mushroom *Coriolus versicolor*, alongside hyaluronic acid, beta-glucan, *Centella asiatica*, *Azadirachta indica* (neem), *Aloe vera*, and Bioecolia (a prebiotic alpha-glucan oligosaccharide). Classified as a medical device (CE marked), Papilocare works through a multi-factorial mechanism: it forms a protective physical barrier on the cervical mucosa to prevent HPV entry and integration, promotes the repair and re-epithelialization of existing low-grade lesions, and rebalances the vaginal microbiota to support natural viral clearance. Clinical data from the PALOMA study demonstrated that the gel achieves normalization of cervical lesions in approximately 88% of patients and viral clearance in over 60% of high-risk HPV-positive patients after six months of treatment.
