Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Paracetamol + meloxicam** is an oral fixed-dose analgesic combination containing paracetamol, also called acetaminophen, and meloxicam. Meloxicam is an oxicam nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug that inhibits cyclooxygenase-mediated prostaglandin synthesis, while paracetamol provides analgesic and antipyretic activity through a mechanism thought to act primarily in the central nervous system. Marketed tablet presentations include 7.5 mg meloxicam plus 325 mg paracetamol and are used for pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal conditions, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
