Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Paracetamol + ambroxol hydrochloride is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and distributed by Laksun Lifesciences. It combines paracetamol (acetaminophen), a widely used analgesic and antipyretic, with ambroxol hydrochloride, a mucolytic and secretolytic agent. Paracetamol provides symptomatic relief from pain and fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis, primarily through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in the central nervous system. Ambroxol hydrochloride facilitates the clearance of respiratory secretions by reducing mucus viscosity and stimulating the production of pulmonary surfactant. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract conditions associated with productive cough, congestion, and fever, such as the common cold and bronchitis. It is typically formulated as an oral tablet for immediate release.
