Overview

Miralgin is a combination analgesic and antipyretic medication developed and marketed by the Hungarian pharmaceutical company PannonPharma. It is formulated as an oral tablet containing three active ingredients: paracetamol (acetaminophen), propyphenazone (a pyrazolone derivative), and caffeine. Paracetamol and propyphenazone work synergistically to provide pain relief and reduce fever by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and peripheral tissues. Caffeine acts as an analgesic adjuvant, enhancing the efficacy and speed of onset of the pain-relieving components while providing a mild stimulant effect. Miralgin is primarily indicated for the short-term treatment of acute pain conditions, such as headaches, toothaches, and menstrual pain (dysmenorrhea), as well as for the management of fever.
