Overview

Andol S is a combination pharmaceutical product developed and manufactured by the Vietnamese company Imexpharm (IMP MMC). It is formulated for the symptomatic relief of the common cold, influenza, and allergic rhinitis. The medication contains two primary active ingredients: paracetamol (acetaminophen) and chlorphenamine maleate. Paracetamol acts as an analgesic and antipyretic by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system, effectively reducing fever and pain. Chlorphenamine maleate is a first-generation alkylamine antihistamine that functions as a competitive antagonist at H1 histamine receptors, thereby alleviating symptoms such as rhinorrhea (runny nose), sneezing, and watery eyes. Andol S is approved and widely marketed in Vietnam as an over-the-counter treatment for flu-like symptoms, headache, and nasal congestion.
