Drug intelligence / Profile preview
A combination analgesic regimen consisting of paracetamol (acetaminophen) and diclofenac sodium. Paracetamol is a non-opioid analgesic and antipyretic that likely acts through the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system. Diclofenac sodium is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing the production of prostaglandins involved in inflammation and pain signaling. This combination is utilized for managing acute postoperative pain, such as following total knee arthroplasty, and was evaluated in clinical research conducted by Mersin University.
