Overview

Dozol is an over-the-counter oral solution formulated for children aged 2 to 12 years. It is a fixed-dose combination containing paracetamol (acetaminophen), a widely used analgesic and antipyretic, and diphenhydramine hydrochloride, a first-generation antihistamine with sedative properties. Dozol is indicated for the temporary relief of teething pain, fever, general aches and pains, and sleeplessness associated with minor childhood illnesses such as colds, flu, and post-immunisation reactions. Paracetamol acts primarily in the central nervous system to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing pain and fever, while diphenhydramine hydrochloride acts as an antagonist at histamine H1 receptors to provide antihistaminic and sedative effects.
