Overview

This is a combination product containing paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen), a widely used analgesic and antipyretic, and native type II collagen, an undenatured form of collagen derived primarily from chicken or bovine sources. Paracetamol acts centrally to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, providing pain relief and reducing fever. Native type II collagen works through an immune-mediated mechanism called oral tolerance, which modulates the immune response to decrease inflammation in joint tissues. The combination has been studied for symptomatic treatment of knee osteoarthritis, where it demonstrated superior efficacy in improving pain and function compared to paracetamol alone[1][2]. Native type II collagen is thought to help protect cartilage by reducing inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and TNFα[4], though its precise molecular targets are not fully established.
