Overview

This combination drug contains four active ingredients: **paracetamol (acetaminophen)**, a pain reliever and fever reducer; **pseudoephedrine hydrochloride**, a sympathomimetic decongestant; **dextromethorphan hydrobromide**, a non-opioid cough suppressant; and **chlorpheniramine maleate**, a first-generation antihistamine. It is used to relieve symptoms associated with the common cold and flu, such as headache, fever, body aches, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and sinus pressure. Mechanistically, it targets prostaglandin synthesis (paracetamol), adrenergic receptors in nasal mucosa (pseudoephedrine), the cough center in the medulla (dextromethorphan), and histamine H1 receptors (chlorpheniramine)[1][2][3][5].
