Parachlorophenol

Parachlorophenol is a small molecule antibacterial agent primarily used to prevent infections in root canals during dental procedures. It acts by disrupting microbial cell membranes and interfering with cellular functions. Its mechanism of action involves penetration of microbial cell walls and disruption of membrane integrity, leading to leakage of cellular contents and ultimately cell death. Parachlorophenol exhibits broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against bacteria, fungi, and some viruses.
