Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Paradana is an oral analgesic and antipyretic medication developed and manufactured by Dana Pharmaceuticals, a leading pharmaceutical company in Nigeria. The drug's active ingredient is paracetamol (also known as acetaminophen), a small molecule that provides relief from mild to moderate pain and reduces fever. It works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, primarily within the central nervous system, which leads to a reduction in prostaglandin synthesis. Paradana is used to treat a wide range of conditions, including headaches, migraines, toothaches, menstrual pain, and musculoskeletal aches. It has been a flagship product for Dana Pharmaceuticals for over 27 years and is widely available in the Nigerian market in various strengths and formulations.
