Overview
Parietaria (marketed under the brand name Lais) is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) product developed by Lofarma S.p.A. for the treatment of allergic conditions triggered by *Parietaria* pollen. The active ingredient is a monomeric carbamylated allergoid (CMA), which is produced by chemically modifying *Parietaria* pollen allergens through carbamylation. This modification is designed to reduce the allergen's IgE-binding capacity (decreasing allergenicity and the risk of systemic reactions) while preserving its immunogenicity to induce long-term desensitization. Formulated as orosoluble tablets, it is indicated for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, allergic conjunctivitis (oculorhinitis), and allergic asthma in patients sensitized to *Parietaria* pollen.
