PARP2 siRNA is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) designed to silence the expression of the Poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 2 (PARP2) gene. In preclinical research, it is utilized as a molecular tool to investigate the role of PARP2 in DNA repair pathways and cell survival. Studies have demonstrated that silencing PARP2 can mimic the chemosensitizing and pro-apoptotic effects of chemical PARP inhibitors in various cancer models, including non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), mesothelioma, and ovarian cancer. By reducing PARP2 protein levels, this siRNA impairs the cell's ability to repair DNA damage, thereby promoting apoptosis via the intrinsic pathway, particularly in cells exhibiting PARP overactivation.
