Parsatuzumab is a humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody developed for the treatment of cancer. It acts as an immunomodulator by selectively binding to epidermal growth factor-like domain multiple 7 (EGFL7), a vascular-restricted extracellular matrix protein that promotes endothelial cell adhesion and survival. By blocking the interaction between EGFL7 and endothelial cells, parsatuzumab is designed to inhibit angiogenesis and tumor perfusion, particularly after antiangiogenic therapy such as VEGF inhibition. Parsatuzumab was developed by Genentech/Roche and has been investigated in clinical trials for advanced or recurrent cancers including colorectal cancer (CRC) and non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer (NS-NSCLC). Clinical studies have shown that while it was generally well tolerated, it did not demonstrate significant efficacy when added to standard regimens in these indications[1][3][4][5][7].
