PAS-009 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by Porton Advanced for the treatment of recurrent ovarian carcinoma. The therapy involves engineering a patient's own T cells to express a CAR that specifically recognizes mesothelin, a cell-surface glycoprotein that is highly expressed in several solid tumors, including ovarian cancer. Upon binding to mesothelin on the surface of tumor cells, the CAR-T cells are activated to mediate direct T-cell cytotoxicity, leading to the destruction of the malignant cells. As of early 2024, PAS-009 is in the IND-enabling stage and has received IND approval in China.
