PASC (Pluripotent Adipose-derived Stem Cells) is an allogenic stem cell therapy being developed by ClusterXStem-Costa Rica for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. These cells are isolated from adipose tissue and are characterized by their pluripotency, which theoretically allows them to differentiate into various cell types, including dopaminergic neurons. The therapy is currently being evaluated in the REPOSE clinical trial, a randomized Phase I/IIa study, where it is administered intravenously to assess its safety and efficacy in patients with mild to moderate Parkinson's disease. The therapeutic approach aims to promote tissue regeneration and functional recovery, potentially by replacing lost neurons or providing neuroprotective trophic support to existing neural tissue.
