Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Pasiniazid** is a defined 1:1 molecular salt/complex of isoniazid and para-aminosalicylic acid used as an oral antitubercular drug. It dissociates in the gastrointestinal tract to deliver isoniazid, which is activated by mycobacterial catalase-peroxidase KatG and inhibits InhA-dependent mycolic-acid synthesis, and para-aminosalicylic acid, an antifolate prodrug whose active metabolites inhibit mycobacterial dihydrofolate reductase. It has been used in multidrug regimens for pulmonary tuberculosis, including retreatment regimens. ([medchemexpress.com](https://www.medchemexpress.com/Pasiniazid.html))
