Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PASylated anti-VEGFR2 Adnectin is a preclinical-stage recombinant fusion protein designed to inhibit angiogenesis. It consists of an anti-VEGFR2 Adnectin (specifically Adnectin C, a monobody derived from the tenth type III domain of human fibronectin) genetically fused to a biodegradable Pro/Ala/Ser (PAS) polypeptide sequence (specifically a 200-amino-acid PAS sequence). This PASylation technology, developed by XL-protein, significantly increases the hydrodynamic volume of the small Adnectin scaffold, thereby extending its plasma half-life and improving its pharmacokinetic profile without compromising its binding affinity to VEGFR2. By binding to VEGFR2, the fusion protein blocks VEGF-mediated signaling pathways, potentially inhibiting tumor angiogenesis and metastasis.
