Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Patacure-KT is a fixed-dose combination ophthalmic solution marketed by Martia Laboratories for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. It contains two active pharmaceutical ingredients: olopatadine hydrochloride and ketorolac tromethamine. Olopatadine is a dual-action agent that functions as a selective histamine H1 receptor antagonist and a mast cell stabilizer, providing rapid relief from ocular itching and preventing the release of inflammatory mediators. Ketorolac tromethamine is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits the cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis and alleviating ocular pain and inflammation. This combination is specifically formulated for topical ophthalmic use to manage both the allergic and inflammatory components of seasonal or perennial allergic conjunctivitis.
