Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This investigational personalized probiotic therapy is being developed by the Institute of Hematology & Blood Diseases Hospital in China for the treatment of acute intestinal graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD). The therapy consists of *Lactobacillus* and *Bifidobacterium* probiotic strains derived from either the transplant patient or their donor. It is specifically designed to address intestinal dysbiosis in patients over 50 years of age who develop aGVHD following haploidentical hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). By restoring a healthy gut microbiota composition, the therapy aims to modulate the intestinal microbiome and improve clinical outcomes and quality of life in this high-risk patient population.
