Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Pazopanib** is an orally available, small-molecule, multi-target receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor originally developed by GlaxoSmithKline and subsequently acquired by Novartis. It inhibits VEGF receptors 1, 2, and 3, platelet-derived growth factor receptors alpha and beta, and KIT, thereby suppressing tumor angiogenesis and growth-factor signaling. It is marketed as Votrient for adults with advanced renal cell carcinoma and for advanced soft-tissue sarcoma after prior chemotherapy. In the specified Center Trials & Treatment Phase 1 study, pazopanib was an individual active component of investigational intranasal NST-4G for recurrent glioblastoma, gliosarcoma, and anaplastic glioma.
