Pb-212-RMX PSMA is a targeted alpha therapy (TAT) radiopharmaceutical being developed by RadioMedix in collaboration with Vect-Horus for the treatment of prostate cancer. The drug consists of a ligand targeting the prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), which is overexpressed in prostate cancer cells, conjugated to the alpha-emitting radioisotope Lead-212 (Pb-212). By binding to PSMA, the radioligand delivers high-LET (linear energy transfer) alpha radiation directly to the tumor site, inducing complex double-strand DNA breaks that are difficult for cells to repair, thereby promoting cell death while sparing adjacent healthy tissues. It is currently in preclinical development.
