Overview

PB-2301 is a synthetic peptide drug candidate developed by PegBio for the treatment of metabolic diseases. It acts as a dual agonist of the gastric inhibitory polypeptide receptor (GIPR) and the glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor (GLP-1R). By activating both GIPR and GLP-1R, PB-2301 is designed to improve glycemic control and potentially support weight loss in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), and obesity. As of June 2025, it remains in preclinical development with plans to submit IND applications in China in 2025 and initiate Phase I clinical trials as early as 2026[1][3][5][9].
