Drug intelligence / Profile preview
PB-RCDI-01 is a toxoid-based active immunotherapy (vaccine) being developed by Proxi Biotech for the prevention of recurrent Clostridium difficile infection (RCDI). The vaccine is designed to induce an adaptive immune response against C. difficile toxins, which are the primary virulence factors responsible for the pathology and symptoms of the infection. By neutralizing these toxins, PB-RCDI-01 aims to prevent the cycle of recurrence that characterizes many C. difficile cases. The candidate is currently in the IND-enabling stage, specifically undergoing GLP toxicology studies, with a regulatory approval filing planned for 2025. The development is supported by a partnership with LITEVAX, utilizing their adjuvant technology to enhance the vaccine's immunogenicity.
