PB201

PB201 is a long-acting, PEGylated dual agonist of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and gastric inhibitory polypeptide (GIP) receptors, currently under development by PegBio Co., Ltd. for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity. By simultaneously activating both the GLP-1 and GIP receptors, PB201 leverages the synergistic effects of these incretin hormones to enhance insulin secretion, suppress glucagon release, and improve metabolic health more effectively than single-receptor agonists. The molecule incorporates PegBio's proprietary PEGylation technology, which significantly extends its circulating half-life and enables a once-weekly subcutaneous dosing regimen. Clinical development is primarily focused in China, where PB201 has completed Phase 1 safety and pharmacokinetic studies and has progressed into Phase 2 trials to evaluate its efficacy in patients with type 2 diabetes.
