PBAT-001 is a preclinical allogeneic CAR T-cell therapy being developed by Novartis and Precision BioSciences for the treatment of multiple myeloma. It utilizes Precision BioSciences' proprietary ARCUS gene editing platform to engineer T cells, aiming to create scalable, 'off-the-shelf' therapies. The ARCUS platform allows for precise gene editing, including the disruption of endogenous T cell receptors and the insertion of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) transgenes, to enable the modified T cells to target cancer cells.
